June 8 Dawson Creek to Chetwynd 70 miles
We read in a magazine that Chetwynd has the most chainsaw carved sculptures in the world so decided to make a small side trip to stop there. Then, we discovered in Milepost that they are having an International Chainsaw Carving Competition this weekend so going to stop there for a day or so. Arrived here about 12:30 and got set up. Headed downtown to watch the carvers work. It's an invitational so there are only 12 very good carvers here, one from Japan. Their carvings stay here in the community after they are done. Will be interesting to watch them work.
